It is there on the TV in front of me and I have a remote control within reach... but I continue to watch. Willingly.
Ergh - how do I get sucked into the silly cultural absurdity that Lifetime presents as a woman's fantasy view of the world. Oh - because it matches a lot of the gay sensibilities I have adopted. I will watch 5 more minutes and then flip to... what???? Soap operas? Cable News? Oy... journey on Lucy Liu... you want the fantasy. And I am WAY too distracted when I intended to have a productive day off!)
Next topic: MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Holy cow it is Christmas EVE... the day that, as a child, used to make me BONKERS with anticipation. Growing up is great - but sometimes don't ya miss the kid happiness and carefree whimsy-ness? Santa... that guy was one of the first great mysteries that inevitably disappoints. Somehow the sting of an absent Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy were much further down the sadness-meter when they proved to be bogus bringers of stuff.
Okay - totally sucked in to the Lucy Liu movie now. And the errands must follow.
I do wish you all a Merry Festivus.
Peace ya'll!! See ya in one-one...

Sometimes I Forget to Remember
Last year at this time was quite challenging. I was in a darker space internally, and things were filtered through that lens. But just as Buddha taught that impermanence is a guaranteed experience here in Samsara... things CHANGED!
It is hard to believe that 2010 is drawing to a close. And it is funny how often I find myself swearing I cannot believe another year (or month, or week, or day... heck sometimes I spend hours wondering where minutes went) has passed. There is so much to report, convey and post... but I always forget to remember what I was gonna write about.
I got a new gadget recently. A wee little netbook that I **LOVE** with all my fibers of loveness. It is A) adorable B) brand new C) convenient and D) didn't cost much AT ALL. I won it over on wavee.com (a penny auction site.) I developed a love/hate relationship with the site immediately. I won so quickly... but then I never won again! LOL. Therein lies the root of addiction n'est pas? Trying to re-achieve an initial experience?
Anywho... since the little gizmo (that I lovingly dubbed "Paco" and everyone now knows by name... not to dis on Barney, my Blackberry, who I still love like an older child... but Paco is the baby!)... ever since it arrived I have been expanding my virtual horizons.
I happen to have a lovely reason to be online researching. My better half joins the ranks of those of us on "this side" of 40 soon. SO I am planning (with the help of Paco) some surprisey type thingys for MR. almost 40!
John knows some of the deets... like that he will be stricken with the "business end"of Paco if he neglects to clear his calendar for the four days I have told him I have complete control over in his life... BWAHAHAHAHAH. LOL. But that is ALL he knows... and as soon as HE knows, well I look forward to sharing it with the rest of you! (Well, he also knows it is a trip to NYC... deets leak fast!)
Thanks Paco for making it fun for this 40 year old to prepare to be joined by THAT 40 year old.
I will share some of the festive Resources that Paco showed me in order to make the fun possible. But later...
I gotta motor now in Hoopty (that is the newest nomeclature for the Subaru) cause a prayer shift is replete with my name on it in 10 minutes!
Yikes. Beam me up Paco. Shoot. Guess it didn't come with that app!!
Peace Ya'll...
From Paco the almost pocket sized PC. : )
