Spring Clinging

What is it about the stuff "we end up" with that makes us want to keep it around? As I am taking a running LEAP at cleaning today - I am laughing at the trinkets and piles that seem to eddy and swirl into each corner of the homestead. Like... isn't that a pile I began sorting in 1998? But somehow it adapts, evolves, changes and survives from house to house and state to state!

It is not actually the same pile, but it is the habit of piling. I remember a time management seminar outline that explained you should put things in their final place, not touch them twice. That is an ambitious thought. I am typically creating and unearthing the place that things are going to go by shifting the piles that ended up on that surface... so it is an ebb and flow process.

And would somebody PLEASE create a super-amazing- never-thought-of-but-undeniably BRILLIANT use for dog hair?? Cause I would be swimmin' in Benjamins if that stuff ever became a commodity!

Anywhoooooo... I just wanted to blog for a moment because it is ineffably frustrating to take a stab at the first Spring clean of the year. The dust still has its winter coat, and the pasty stench of winter hibernation resists Pledge, Clorox, Murphy's Soap and everything yummy smelling... and thus requires 2 coats of Mr. Miyagi style "wax on/wax off." So I will return to the diligent wiping now!

Later taters...

Ya'll blow that pollen off your table tops and let Spring know it is WELCOME up in here!

Peace...

A note to the Teacher

Good Morning Jetsunma,

I prostrate to your lotus feet and beg that you allow me to remain in
your entourage for countless lifetimes. Reading some messages from the
past few days, I beg a moment to respond...

When I see your wisdom and benefit in the world, it HUMBLES me to even
be a small player in the unfolding of the lineage you and Kunzang
Sherab founded so long ago.

I pray that our mirror mind only reflect to you our most pristine view
of your amazing, brilliant and sublime influence in the world. Most of
the people that I now surround myself with are those choosing their life path
based on a precious intersection with you and all the priceless,
unfathomable Bodhicitta you offer. They are your nuns, your monks,
your students.

Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the ceaseless vigil to end
suffering that YOU and YOU ALONE inspired and thus two and a half
decades of focused prayer have been brought forth from hundreds of
practitioners in this life. Not any other woman on this planet could
have enlisted such a rag tag troop of us misfits to spend so many
hours, days, weeks and years of our lives attempting to be of benefit
while we fumble through Samsara.

Pardon my long winded-ness, but being able to log on night and day and
be with you via email, Twitter, your blog and website, Videos
available on demand at Ustream and Youtube, your beautiful face
online, and your magnificent Dakini voice and music 24 hours a day-
Jetsunma you are our modern miracle!! We would otherwise be stumbling
blindly through our toilet minded, war mongering, ultra judgmental
tabloid obsessed culture... Yet YOU allow that same energy within our
mind to give rise to bodhicitta and feed our hearts. One molecular
atomic nanosecond of exposure to your life is worth more than the
combined multitude of lifetimes of worldly accomplishment and all the
collective compounded horse poop of those charlatans we intersect with
online. Please never let their malevolent misguided fear and hatred
shape your display for a moment, unless it is to strengthen your
resolve to benefit beings who would rather ride their prideful ego
mania straight into hell realms than lovingly recognize the face of
their own Nature.

We are nothing without the truth we learn from you. May my life force
support your mission and be a beacon for other tempest tossed ships to
find their way to the exotic shores of your dharma continent. It is
here that they will partake of the ceaseless bounty you offer! May I
never forget to practice and give rise to proper view as you have and
continue to teach.

I love you! We all love you and fail miserably at knowing when and how
to step up and practice view properly. I pray that as individuals and
as a mighty Sangha we are able to bring benefit to all those whose
karma guides them into your realm of activity!

As a pitiful practitioner who lives in Poolesville only to be near
your heartbeat and in your mandala... I know the value of your
presence in the world. We are the ones with hopes of you... Please
continue to bring the fruition of that well placed trust and boundless
love!!

Your pitiful student floating in a miraculous sea of your nectar...

Christopher
---------------------------------------- FOOTNOTE:-------------------------------------

Hi readers,

Tomorrow will be the 25th anniversary of the 24 hour prayer vigil at Kunzang Palyul Ch0ling. With the recent slander campaign that many of us and especially our lama Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo have endured - I was moved to share this message with you today. If you are unfamiliar with Vajrayana (commonly called Tibetan) Buddhism - the entire path boils down to finding, following and relying on a qualified lama. To have one born and available in America is until recent decades UNHEARD of. And to have one enthroned within an unbroken lineage such as Palyul and qualified to bring about the results of the path for each of us - that one can follow and accept as one's own teacher... well, I am not sure there are words.

I am a lazy practitioner, but my heart and my intention are alive and well. I hope that this note, shared with any who read it here, inspire all of you to search ruthlessly for your root guru.

Whatever your faith base - find the Way, the Truth and the Light and never stop shining in this or any future life. No matter what anyone says to or about you!

With love,
Bowdawg

If Memory Serves...

A blog is a place to post words on a regular or semi-regular basis... This would mean that I am going to pretend March brought a coma or some other soap opera-esque absence of my sanity and that is the reason that April is half over and my blog remains un-blogged.

Rescue is on its way. Spring brings re-birth, renewal, fertile newness-ness, right? Let's hope so for the sake of the blog it does.

If not, I will see you all in June. : )
