Come here, sit still
Let silence rest
Your eyes will say it all
No rock or mountain in this world
Withstands a waterfall
Your heart can ache below the pain
Where none was ever felt
A piece of you for now is gone
No words of mine will help
So place your own
Between these lines
And say what comes to rest
Upon your tongue, when emptiness
Consumes your beating chest
Rip roar the tears
Or choke them back
No rules in life apply
Inevitable we each will face
An unprepared goodbye
I knew not what you
Felt for him
And honestly I'd bet
The conversations in your head
Are ones you'd not had yet
But when the wise
Reflect on life
And look for clues of truth
No single being whose birth was here
Remains as living proof
So bear your burden
Noble son
And carry deep within
The father who gave life to you
Your truth still lives with him.

I offer this to you as a prayer: Om Ah Mi Dewa Rhi (recite this when you think of him, especially in these initial weeks.)
May the blessings of Amitabha and all the fortunate ones whose name you need only speak
Guide you through your grief, and your father to an auspicious next journey. Peace be with you.
